Read this safety chapter and these operating instructions before using the device for the first time. Proceed accordingly. Keep the operating instructions for future reference or for future owners.

• In addition to the notes in the operating instructions, you also need to take into consideration the general safety regulations and accident prevention guidelines applicable by law.

The power switch prevents unintentional operation of the device.

The lock blocks the trigger and prevents the device from switching on unintentionally.

If the trigger of the high-pressure pump is released, the pressure switch turns off the pump and the high-pressure jet is stopped. The high-pressure pump switches on again when the trigger is pulled.

The motor circuit breaker shuts off the device if power consumption it too high.

The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental regulations.

Electrical and electronic devices contain valuable, recyclable materials and often components such as batteries, rechargeable batteries or oil, which - if handled or disposed of incorrectly - can pose a potential danger to human health and the environment. However, these components are required for the correct operation of the device. Devices marked by this symbol are not allowed to be disposed of together with the household rubbish.

Cleaning work producing in oily waste water, e.g. washing engines, washing undercarriages etc., may only be performed at washing stations with an oil separator.

Working with detergents may only be performed on watertight surfaces with connection to the waste water sewage system. Do not allow detergent to enter waterways or the soil.

Extraction of water from public waterways is not permitted in some countries.

Use the high-pressure cleaner in private households only.

The high-pressure cleaner is intended for cleaning machines, vehicles, buildings, tools, façades, terraces, garden machines etc. using a high-pressure water jet.

Only use original accessories and original spare parts. They ensure that the appliance will run fault-free and safely.

The scope of delivery for the appliance is shown on the packaging. Check the contents for completeness when unpacking. If any accessories are missing or in the event of any shipping damage, please notify your dealer.

13. Vario Power spray lance for common cleaning tasks. The working pressure can be continuously increased from "SOFT" to "HARD". To set the working pressure, release the trigger. Then turn the spray lance to the desired position. To apply detergent, detach the spray lance and operate using only the high-pressure gun.

Before initial startup, mount the loose enclosed parts on the device.

Have the screws / dowels and an appropriate screwdriver ready.

1. Insert the wheels.

   Note

   Pay attention to the alignment of the hole.

2. Secure the wheels with 1 screw each.

2. Insert the 2 dowels into the holes as far as they will go.

3. Secure the base with 2 screws.

1. Hook in the storage for the spray lances.

2. Secure the storage with 2 screws.

3. Secure the cover with 4 screws.

1. Attach the transport handle.

2. Secure the transport handle with 2 screws.

1. Hang the accessory net on the hooks.

1. Screw the water connection coupling onto the water connection on the device.

1. Place the device on a level, horizontal surface.

2. ATTENTION

   Risk of damage during operation with wound-up high-pressure hose!

   Damage on the high-pressure hose.

   Unwind the high-pressure hose completely and lay it out without knots, loops or twists before operating the device.

   Completely unroll the high-pressure hose.

3. Pull the high-pressure hose forward through the hose guide and lay it out without loops, knots or twists.

   ---

   

4. Insert the high-pressure hose into the high-pressure gun until it audibly clicks into place.

   Note

   Take care to ensure the correct alignment of the nipple.

   ---

   

5. Check the secure connection by pulling on the high-pressure hose.

6. Unwind the power cord completely.

7. Insert the mains plug into a mains socket.

For the connection values see Technical data or nameplate.

Observe the water distribution company regulations.

1. Plug the garden hose onto the water connection coupling.

   Note

   Reinforced garden hose required: minimum diameter 1/2 inch (13 mm), minimum length 7.5 m, with standard quick coupling.

2. Connect the garden hose to the water line.

3. Open the water tap completely.

This high-pressure cleaner with the KÄRCHER suction hose is suitable for sucking in surface water, e.g.from water butts or ponds (for maximum suction height, see Technical data).

1. Unscrew the coupling on the water connection.

2. Fill the suction hose with water.

3. Screw the suction hose onto the water connection of the device and hang it in a water source (e.g. rain barrel).

1. Switch on the device by turning the device switch to the "I/ON" position.

   To switch off the device, turn the device switch to the "0/OFF" position.

   ---

   

2. Unlocking the trigger.

   ---

   

3. Actuate the trigger.

   The device switches on.

4. Allow the device for run a maximum of 2 minutes until the water escaping from the high-pressure gun is free of air bubbles.

5. Release the trigger.

6. Lock the trigger.

During operation, the pressure indicator on the high-pressure gun displays the set pressure level.

Turn the Vario Power spray lance to set the pressure levels SOFT, MEDIUM or HARD.

Dismantle the spray lance on the high-pressure gun to set the MIX pressure level and add detergent.

1. Insert a spray lance into the high-pressure gun and lock it into position by turning it 90°.

   ---

   

2. Switch the device on.

3. Unlocking the trigger.

4. Actuate the trigger.

   The device switches on.

5. Turn the Vario Power spray lance until the required pressure stage is indicated on the pressure indicator.

1. Remove the lid on the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle.

2. Insert the Plug ’n’ Clean detergent bottle into the intake on the device with the opening facing downwards.

   ---

   

3. Remove the spray lance from the high-pressure gun.

   The detergent is mixed with the low pressure stream during operation.

1. Spray the detergent sparingly on the dry surface and let it work for a while (do not let it dry).

2. Attach a spray lance to the high-pressure gun and rinse off the loosened dirt.

1. Pull the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle out of the holder and close it with the lid.

2. Place the detergent bottle in the holder with the lid facing upwards.

3. Operate the device for approx. 30 seconds with clear water to rinse the detergent out of the device and accessories.

1. Release the trigger.

   The device switches off as soon as the trigger is released.

   The high-pressure in the system is maintained.

2. Lock the trigger.

3. Place the high-pressure gun with the spray lance into the high-pressure gun holder.

4. For work breaks longer than 5 minutes, switch off the device.

1. Release the trigger.

2. Lock the trigger.

3. Close the water tap.

4. Disconnect the device from the water supply.

5. Unlocking the trigger.

6. Actuate the trigger for a maximum of 1 minute, until no more water escapes.

   The pressure in the system is released.

   The water is pumped out of the device to prevent frost damage.

7. Release the trigger.

8. Lock the trigger.

9. Switch off the device.

10. Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket.

11. Dismantle the accessories, empty them and stow them on the device, see Storing the device.

1. Lift up and carry the device by the carrying handle.

1. Pull out the transport handle until it audibly engages.

2. Pull the device by the transport handle.

1. Before horizontal transport, pull the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle out of the holder and close it with the lid.

2. Secure the device against shifting and tipping.

1. Finish operation, see Ending operation.

2. Remove the spray wand from the high-pressure gun.

3. Press the release button and pull off the high-pressure hose from the high-pressure gun.

4. Let the water drain from the high-pressure gun.

5. Store the high-pressure gun in the storage compartment for the high-pressure gun.

6. Store the spray lances in the spray lance holder:

   1. Spray lance Vario Power: Nozzle upwards

   2. Spray lance dirt grinder: Nozzle downwards

7. Pull the high-pressure hose backwards out of the high-pressure hose guide.

8. Hang the high-pressure hose on the hook for the high-pressure hose / mains cable.

9. Hang the mains cable on the hook for the high-pressure hose / mains cable.

1. Pump the water out of the device, see Ending operation.

2. Dismantle the accessories and drain the water, see Storing the device.

3. Store the device accessories and keep them in a frost-proof room, see Storing the device

The device is maintenance-free. you do not need to perform periodic maintenance work.

Clean the sieve in the water connection if necessary.

1. Unscrew the coupling on the water connection.

2. Pull out the sieve.

   ---

   

3. Clean the sieve under running water.

4. Insert the sieve into the water connection.

Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can remedy yourself using the following overview. When in doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned here, please contact your authorized Customer Service.

• Device is not running 

• Device does not start, motor hums 

• The device does not reach required pressure 

• Strong pressure fluctuations 

• Detergent is not sucked in 

• Device leaking 

Cause:

The voltage supply is interrupted.

Remedy:

1. Check that the mains plug is plugged in.

2. Switch the device on.

3. Unlock and actuate the trigger.

   The device starts up, otherwise:

4. Check if the voltage specified on the type plate matches the voltage of the power source.

5. Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket.

6. Check the mains cable and the mains plug for damage.

   A damaged power cord must be replaced promptly by an authorized Customer Service.

Cause:

The motor circuit breaker is active.

Remedy:

1. If the motor is overloaded, the motor circuit breaker switches the device off.

2. Switch off the device.

3. Allow the device to cool off for 1 hour.

4. Switch on the device and put it into operation.

   If the fault occurs several times, have the device checked by Customer Service.

Cause:

Voltage drop due to a weak mains grid or when using an extension cable.

Remedy:

1. Do not use an extension cable.

2. Before switching on the device, pull the trigger, then switch on the device.

Cause:

The spray lance is in the "SOFT" position.

Remedy:

1. Turn the spray lance to the "HARD" position.

Cause:

The water supply is too low.

Remedy:

1. Open the water tap completely.

2. Lay the garden hose without kinks.

3. Check the water supply quantity and increase if necessary, see Technical data.

4. Make sure that the maximum suction height is not exceeded, see Technical data.

Cause:

The sieve is contaminated.

Remedy:

1. Clean the sieve, see Clean the sieve in the water connection.

Cause:

There is air in the device.

Remedy:

1. Ensure that the high-pressure hose and garden hose are installed correctly.

2. Vent the device, see Vent the device.

Cause:

The jet nozzle in the jet nozzle head is dirty.

Remedy:

1. Clean the jet nozzle from the front using a needle and flush it through.

Cause:

The water supply quantity is too low.

Remedy:

1. Open the water tap completely.

2. Lay the garden hose without kinks.

3. Clean the sieve in the water connection.

4. Check the water supply quantity and increase if necessary.

Cause:

A spray lance is mounted on the high-pressure gun.

Remedy:

1. Detach the spray lance and operate using only the high-pressure gun.

Cause:

The Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle is empty or not fitted correctly.

Remedy:

1. Check the filling level of the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle and replace the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle if necessary.

2. Ensure that the Plug 'n' Clean detergent bottle is correctly positioned in the intake on the device with the opening facing downwards.

Remedy:

1. The device leaks a small amount for technical reasons. If the leak is severe, request authorised Customer Service.
